About Our Organization
Q: What is “Bear Down Aquatics?”
A: Bear Down Aquatics is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the mission, programs, and the aquatics community of The University of Arizona. Our goal is to strengthen our Aquatics Alumni and Friends connections, create opportunities for current student-athletes, ensure program sustainability, and uphold the legacy of excellence at the University of Arizona.

Q: Are you affiliated with The University of Arizona?
A. We are an independent 501(c)(3) with our own governance, and our mission is to support University of Arizona Aquatics programs and help them continue their legacy.

Q: Are donations to Bear Down Aquatics tax-deductible?
A: As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, your donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. A donation receipt will be provided for your records.

Q: What is your Tax ID / EIN number?
A: Our Tax ID number can be provided upon request and will be provided with a confirmation letter after any donation.
Donations
Q: How can I donate?
A: Donations can be made securely online through our website (coming soon), by credit card, and checks mailed to our office, or by phone. We also accept employer matching gifts, stock donations, planned and estate gifts.
Q: Can I set up a recurring donation?
A: Yes! Our soon to be launched online giving platform makes it easy to schedule recurring donations on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis.
Q: Do you accept employer matching gifts?
A: Absolutely, many employers will match donations made by their employees. Check with your HR department to see if your gift can be matched or even doubled or tripled.
Q: How are donations used?
A: Bear Down Aquatics is using 100% of donated funds to fund scholarships, student programs, athletic initiatives, and alumni engagement — ensuring the continued success and legacy of Arizona Aquatics.
Q: Can I designate my donation for a specific purpose?
A: You may choose to direct your gift to the aquatics program, scholarships, or an initiative that matters most to you. Unrestricted gifts allow us to apply support where it’s needed most within the aquatics programs.
Q: Can I donate anonymously?
A: Yes. If you prefer to keep your donation private, simply select the “anonymous” option when donating online or let us know when making your contribution.
Accountability, Transparency & Governance
Q: How do I know my donation is being used responsibly?
A: Transparency, accountability, and good governance matter to us. We conduct annual reviews, and publish reports to show exactly how contributions are invested in our aquatics programs and initiatives.

Q: Will I receive a receipt?
A: Yes. Every donor receives an acknowledgment letter or email confirming their gift. For tax purposes, this receipt will include our 501(c)(3) information and the donation amount.

Q: Does your nonprofit have a paid staff?
A: No. Our team is made up entirely of former aquatics alumni and volunteers, so every contribution directly supports our programs and initiatives.

Engagement & Contact
Q: Besides donating, how can I support the organization?
A: Alumni can get involved by volunteering at events, mentoring students, joining parent organizations, serving on committees, and helping spread awareness of our mission. Your time, expertise, and engagement are just as valuable as financial contributions.
